Why do people shade themselves on the internet?

Have you come across a heated argument online before? Just a single tweet or an unreasonable comment can break the internet for the day.

So on Monday, two popular artists in my country began to troll themselves, and to date, they are still shading themselves, why though? The funny part is that their fans have joined the war and are also supporting their preferred celebrities, raining abuses on those against their favourite celebrity making the whole internet a toxic place to be at the moment.

Studies have shown that most people who troll on the internet are either narcissists, sadists, or experiencing a high level of boredom, while some are just envious of the other person and others just don't possess good moral values and discipline.

What are they all lacking? POSITIVE RELATIONSHIP & LOVE.

To think that these celebrities used to be good buddies got me thinking about what a positive relationship truly meant to them. The worst of all was when one trolled the other with the death of his son and I felt really bad about it, why on earth would you use someone's predicament to mock them when you know that no one knows what tomorrow will bring?

I said all of these people lack love at home, because a person with so much love, will know that words can make or mar a person, love will move you to be gracious with your speech and to be empathetic.

Positive relationships are not easy to come by, especially in our generation, it requires a lot of effort and intentionality and most people today just put on a charade to care but they do not.

Have you noticed how people are so easy to talk badly against someone who was once their friend just because they had a fallout?

A positive relationship has a bearing on our overall existence, it contributes to the sanity of the society at large and also brings us true happiness. Firstly, it begins from our homes, we must learn to communicate properly, forgive, love genuinely, celebrate each others' success, show support and mutual respect and learn how to manage conflict before it gets out of hand.

Parents have a lot to do in this aspect, to make their homes a haven for their children so that they do not pour out of an empty cup to society in return, preach love, practice love and spread love!

Love helps a person to accommodate their excesses, and they are patient with each other because Love is a universal language, I do not consider love as just a mere feeling but a choice, to do right by others, nurture great bonds and show true support to others.

The people who constantly hide behind their keyboards to troll others should learn to do better, love makes the world go round, and spread love everywhere you find yourself, in real life and on the media.

This goes beyond just the internet as well, in our daily lives, to people we meet, strangers and friends, may we be an advocate for love and peace.

May we all learn to cultivate a positive relationship with one another as the benefits are worth it and not just limit it to members of our families, romantic partners or close friends but to all whom we meet.
