You Are Not Defined By Your Pain.

Image
Does your pain define who you are? We all face struggles in different ways and sometimes we lack the strength to go and feel like we've been defeated by our struggles and then we measure our strength by the pain we go through. Here's a little reminder that our pain does not define who we are in any way and we are much more stronger than we think. All we need to defeat our struggles is the right mindset and a go-to person to encourage us each step of the way. Listening to this song has always been my motivation to always go on because I know I am stronger than I think, for every storm that comes my way, I am certain that I can weather it. Prayer is another weapon to face your struggles and believing that all you've prayed for will surely come to pass. If you look deeper, you see a lion inside of you, you are brave and you are courageous enough to face it all. I remember some years back when I was down due to so many unpleasant things happening around me, I found strength in

Mere Human..

Image
There are certain times we wish we could go back and right our wrongs, And do better because just one silly mistake can ruin everything, Mere humans we are, Prone to fall and make mistake, What we do after the mistake is all that matters, Pain, regrets and a willing attitude to do better, With time it gets better. When you fall, don't stay down, Get up, face it and do better, Mere human you are, You are not immune to making a silly mistake. Take responsibility for your actions and show the world that you will rise again. Image Thank you for stopping by, till we meet again, this is Amie Geoffrey.

A Coffee Nostalgia..

Image
My eyes stumbled on Grandpa's picture, and I began to reminisce about two decades ago, when I last saw him. I was 15 years old when my grandpa died. There came a great storm, which led to a flood and destroyed Grandpa's coffee plantations, which in turn also led to his death. I remember how much he loved to drink coffee with his favourite mug and how passionate he was about this coffee plantation. I wish I could go back in time to sit with Grandpa on his favourite couch and watch him brew some coffee and listen to his fairy tale while I sipped my cup of coffee too. "funny how time flies," I whispered because it's over two decades now and I have never stumbled on any kind of coffee in 2500. I picked up my stuff and headed to Grandpa's place, a journey of 6 hours. I didn't mind as it would soon be his remembrance day. As soon as I stepped into the house, I could feel his presence so much, even though a lot of things had changed. I heard echoes from the room,

If I Had A Million Dollars..

Image
That day, I got an email inviting me to participate in one of my favourite TV reality show.."Who wants to be a millionaire!", I exclaimed in high spirit and began to make preparations to be at the show. The D-day arrived, I wore my favourite dress made by me and headed to the show, where I met Frank Edohor, the host of the TV reality show. I was positive that, at the end of this game show, I would come back home with a big reward. "A million dollars" ($1,000,000) I had my friends and family watch all over the world, and so the show began. I was a bit tensed and yet excited that at least I had the opportunity to change my life for the better. The host began with his tricky questions, but I was scaling through, and then it started to get tougher. The question he asked was related to medicine, I was oblivious to the answer since I was not a medical practitioner, I used one of my lifelines, which was to phone a friend. At that point, my mind went blank as to whom to cal

Are Fashion Designers Magicians?

Image
Are tailors magicians? You'd have to conclude at the end of this post because, many clients walk in and expect a designer to perform magic with whatever fabric they bring in, even when you tell them that it is not enough for the style. So today, I wanted to ask you how you make up for a style when you realize that the actual fabric isn't enough... Do you just discard the style totally or do you improvise? Well, I asked this question because I had a similar experience just last week. My client walked in with a style she screenshot from  #Pinterest  and wanted me to make a similar style but brought in fewer fabrics for the style. I told her that the fabric wouldn't be enough to work it and that she needed to add about a yard to the fabric, but since the  brocade  fabric was quite expensive, she said she couldn't afford another yard of fabric she decided to change her mind. "Ma'am I can make the style with you, all I need to do is to alter the design a little but

How Much Do You Love Yourself?

Image
It's dangerous to let somebody love you more than you love yourself - Tatiana Manaois Does that quote even make sense to you? How much do you love yourself? Well, these are thought-provoking questions inspired by the  Yesterday, Every Day and Always  Song by Tatiana. I started listening to  Tatiana  in the year 2017, the first song of hers I heard was  Like You , I fell in love with and wanted to hear more from her, so I started to dig for her songs and today I am so in love with the particular song I am about to share. Yesterday, Everyday Always  by Tatiana This song got me thinking, how much do I love myself? Loving myself shouldn't come with mood and season, I should love myself for all time and you should too. Comparison steals our joy away and we begin to think less of ourselves and love ourselves less hoping to find someone who can love us better but the truth is, nobody can ever love you more than you love yourself and you cannot love people when you do not love yourself

The Needles.. My Superpowers.

Image
You'll fit for a nurse because you are very compassionate and more than that, you know how to lay a bed properly," My dad would always tease me, and I didn't think it was a bad idea after all; he was also a doctor. My mindset changed when I walked into the "Save Hand Hospital", the day I had to be injected because I had come down with a fever. This beautiful lady walked in with her white fitted dress and a cap indicating she was a nurse, and then she brought out the tiny rodlike instrument with a sharp point towards me. I had wanted to run, but I realized the door was shut. "Should I bite her?" My adrenaline was giving me different options to be safe simply because I had a phobia of injections and I didn't like to see a nurse around me, but there was nothing I could do. I watched her search for the right vein to prick the needles in, and from that moment on, I realized I wouldn't be a nurse anymore. I needed to be liberated from the fear of need

Rainy Or Dry Seasons.. Which Is Your Preference?

Image
Every season is beautiful and every season has its purpose which is why it was created in the first place. And so, everyone has got their preference as well and reasons they prefer some seasons over others. 2️⃣If you could choose a season that you would want to remain forever, between the rainy and dry seasons, which would it be and why? Well, if I had to choose a season that would want to remain in forever I wouldn't think about the question for too long simply because I was born in the rainy season, So you already know my choice. Rainy seasons it will be! Why that? I have very sensitive skin which is allergic to heat and hot areas, I notice how I struggle to sleep well during dry/hot seasons simply because the heat is too much, I develop rashes on my neck, cubital fossa, face and back which itches me so badly and leave me uncomfortable and a dent on my skin because my country's power supply is nothing to write home about, this is one reason I would opt for the rain to fall st

A Perfect Cozy Set-Up.

At about 5 a.m., I was still in bed when I noticed flashes of lightning across the dark sky, and the thunder roared furiously. It banged and crashed through the dark sky and sent a cool breeze through my window. I began to shiver as my feet were cold and chilling because the temperature in the room had changed. I managed to get up from my bed and reach for my jacket, which was hung just adjacent to my bed. I wore my socks and decided to go back to sleep. The cold wouldn't stop, and my feet started freezing. "Ooh," I whispered. I needed something to be warm; my duvet wouldn't give me the warmth I needed, so I stood up. As I walked past my mirror, I noticed how pretty I looked in my pink pyjamas, which André bought me the last time he came visiting."If only Andre was here, just maybe I wouldn't be this cold," I whispered, and then I reached for my phone to speak to the love of my life. As I was about to dial the number, the heavy rain started, which made i
