Learn. Unlearn & Relearn.

"Do you want to grow tall? Eat Beans!!" Hahaha, this was like an anthem in my home and even in schools as my teacher taught me that Beans can make a person very tall because it is rich in protein. This leads me to answer this week's prompt which says; Tell us about a time when you learned that something you’d always thought was true was incorrect. I grew up learning that Beans had a lot of protein until I stumbled on a popular doctor's post on X which explains that Beans have less protein but more carbohydrates and fibre. I was awestruck..like what??????? He further explained that food rich in protein such as fish, milk, yoghurt and beans was far from it. Haha, I had to start unlearning what I have always thought was correct after doing my research too. Moving on, I never knew I had been using a drinking straw incorrectly until my little niece corrected me. That Saturday morning, after the house chores, being a good aunt I went out to buy Chivita Happy Hour for my nie

That morning, I wore my favourite T-shirt on a pair of trousers as I anticipated the much fun I planned to have at the Casino resort and bar. For a while, I have always admired swimmers so much that I wish I could. Deep down, there's so much passion and drive within me to learn how to swim, so I booked a session with Ucee, my coursemate who knows how to swim. Let's get a cold bath first," Ucee reassured me as we headed to the bathroom to have a cold shower. Subsequently, we headed to the changing room to wear our swimsuits. If there's anything I did more of, it was to take a lot of photos of the beautiful environment, myself, and Ucee. "Hol

A Punctuality Wake-up Call.

Growing up with my parents was a beautiful experience, as I never had to go to school late. My parents would ensure we were all up by 5:30 am as we said our morning devotion and began our daily routine of house chores as they were both civil servants who had the intent of beating morning traffic, and that became a lifestyle for us too. One day, they both had to travel for the funeral of my maternal grandmom and left us with our aunt around the hood. My aunt was a housewife who woke up very late and had to ensure the house was taken care of before leaving for school. "It's 5:30 a.m.; why are you up so early? Go back to sleep, please; we will be up by 6:30 am," she reprimanded me and my siblings when we tried to wake up as early as we did when we were at home. One Monday morning, I remember going to school very late, even after waking up so early to prepare for school. "Get down on your knees," the punctuality prefect commanded me, and being a junior student, I ha
