Welcome to Nigeria, the rain brought in the harmattan and I'm excited.

I love the harmattan season, I guess that's when I glow the more. No more pimples and rashes ooo😋.

Since the weather will be calm, cold, and succulent, my skin will adapt immediately, I'll enjoy a pimples-free life during this period.
My makeup will seat well on my face, with no sweat to wipe it off. Yeey💃.

My mom always told us that during harmattan you would know who is truly endowed with beautiful skin. Hehe.

This is because many people will be looking like Aboki or snow white🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 this period.

Some will refuse to bathe till it's afternoon because of the cold. But as for me, I bathe early with cold water, it chases the cold after bathing, what works for me might not work for you oh.

Things you should keep handy.

The blue seal vaseline
This vaseline is the newest hot cake in town, better guide yours jealously this period.
It helps to keep your skin moisturized and glowing and you avoid looking like aboki🤣.

It also softens your lip and keeps it oily if applied on the lip, you might also be needing lip balm or wet lips.

Socks and head warmer

When the cold becomes intense you'd need to wear socks and a head warmer to avoid the cold penetrating your body.

The socks protect you against dust too as everywhere will be dusty.

So go get yours now!

Eyeglass and facemask
Please use protective glass and a facemask when going out, the dust is unhealthy for you.
Dust damages the eyes and affects the lungs and airways too.

Moufla

It is used like a veil to cover your neck and shoulders, you should have one this season.

Jackets/Sweatshirts/Cardigans*

The sweetest part of this harmattan is how I rock various jackets and look peng.

This is the season to start feeling like you're overseas, rock as many as you can.

I don forget to say na Naija I dey o😄, well, harmattan feels like this.

Things you should avoid
Be very careful with your electrical appliance and cooking cylinder because of a fire outbreak.
Since it is common for houses to go ablaze during this period.
Everywhere will be dry and it's easy to explode.

Avoid anything that will cause you injury

It is easy to sustain an injury during this period and it is usually painful and hard to heal since your skin is dry. So please stay safe, stay out of trouble, don't fight especially with the bus conductor 🤣🤣, make them no go give you igbaju or igbati😆😆😆. (It means a hot slap in the Yoruba dialect)

Things you will notice
Wooden Doors might refuse to shut properly, clothes will dry faster, and iron doors will get stive.

Dry scalp, always moisturize your hair else you would lose a huge amount of hair to the harmattan.

Clothes zippers and bag zippers might refuse to fasten.

I have a tip for this, when you experience this, just apply the blue seal vaseline on the zipper and leave it for a while then try to zip back, it works like magic.

This is when everybody will blame harmattan for the slightest damage
Harmattan go hear am😀😀😀.

In case you're wondering what harmattan is?

The Harmattan is a season in West Africa that occurs between the end of November and the middle of March. It is characterized by the dry and dusty northeasterly trade wind, of the same name, which blows from the Sahara over West Africa into the Gulf of Guinea.
Definition source from Wikipedia

Winter is the younger brother of Harmattan, Harmattan is very cold and dusty with a touch of dryness.

Okay, since we are ready for the harmattan, let's enjoy the season.

Stay safe out there, and have a blessed day. 😍.

Remember to stay hydrated too to avoid sinus and sore throat.
