A great loss
"Dad, why did you leave so soon? I should have told you I love you just one more time." that was the only words Jane could mutter crying profusely.
Jane had wanted to spoil her dad with so many gifts and affection, she just graduated from the university and managed to get a job, when Gracie her cousin sent her the most shocking news ever.
The only man she had ever loved was involved in a ghastly accident on his way back from the states and couldn't get out alive!
The candle was all set as it was his funeral that fateful evening, she was seen in a dark dress and dark eye shades, she read the eulogy and managed to blow the candlelight out as a sign of tribute to her father, the man she has ever loved.
'He would surely be remembered for being an amazing father, uncle, and friend", Gracie said to her looking right into her eyes afterward she hugged Jane.
Jane's heart bled, she should have been there for him in the last moments of his life, and she felt guilty for not finding a way to save him.
Thankfully, her dad left a beautiful flower and card on her bed before traveling like he knew it was going to be his last.
The words in the card comforted her so much and so she found solace in knowing, she meant the world to him even if he was no more.
To forget about the ugly incident, she relocated to another town where she wanted to live a quiet life, she vowed to be there for anyone who needs her support and love.
But those memories never really left, there are still so many things to remind her of her dad, Jane missed her dad so terribly that at times, she just shut everyone out to have a time alone.
Let's say pain changes people.
Do we get over the loss of our loved ones? I think we just learn to live with grief.
The loss of a loved one is a scar, the pain might heal but it never fades away.
- Death is a challenge, it tells us not to waste time, it tells us to tell each other right now that we love each other.. - Leo Buscaglia
