Practice what you preach.
Here are #threetunes selected by me, that suit what I feel today.
This song was released in May 2003. It's oldies but evergreen.
The reason I chose this song is not far-fetched, I heard it's the "month of love" and then I ask myself where is even the love?
When the world is now filled with cruelty and chaos, love has been replaced with trauma, something terrible happened to a friend of mine, her 12-years old daughter died mysteriously in her school during their school's inter-house sport. The whole news has gone viral. You can watch the video here on Instagram and see for yourself how callous and inhumane people can be.
She's in so much pain demanding answers from the school authority on how her child died and everyone seems not to be bothered, she was told to accept her fate like that.
Do I need to state that this is not the first time such a thing is happening in that school and schools around that axis?
Whatever happened to empathy? Whatever happened to true love not based on selfish interest, a love that doesn't discriminate between races, tribes, and nationalities?
If there is love, why is there so much injustice, chaos, and violence?
My heart is shattered and I wish today will make a difference, I wish we can all practice what we preach, I wish people would see beyond the celebration of love that this love needs to spread, it's not only towards lovers and friends or family but to all humans in general, to the needy, the children, the elderly, the sick and bereaved and the society at large.
Pink Sweat, -At my worst
This song was released in July 2020.
This song preaches loving people at their worst, sticking and remaining loyal not only at the good time but at their worst.
So today, I implore all of you including me to love past people's imperfections, there is beauty in everyone if we can love them beyond the surface and love them for who they are, everyone deserves to be loved, and love is not so expensive to give and everyone is worth your love.
I've come to realize that people wear a mask to cover up their vulnerability because if they showed you their flaws would you stay?
If they open up to you would you not judge them and leave them in the middle of nowhere?
So they lie to make up for what they lack because they crave this love and acceptance.
So if people chose to be true to you, show you their flaws, and make effort to be better, love them for who they are and accept their beautiful imperfections.
And we do not need to have a mood for love, "oh I feel good today, I'll share the love", what happens at your lowest or worst days? Spread love still. Be kind to someone regardless.
Michael Jackson, -Heal the world
The oldest of them all, this song was released on November 1992.
I chose this song to conclude today's #TT because we all have a part to play to make the world a better place.
A drop of love here and there will make the world a peaceful and better place to live in.
In our daily lives, in our homes, and at our workplaces can we be the change we want to see?
Can we become even kinder and more thoughtful to people out there?
Let's all lend a hand to make the world better for our children and children's children and take responsibility for our actions.
Let today not be the only day we share the love with people, but let love be the theme of our lifestyle, sharing it with one and all for the rest of our lives.
Remember that sharing love doesn't cost a dime, have a heart and be empathetic today and stop discrimination based on material possession, skin color, or any indifference. Let unity and love lead.
