I broke a deal because of this beautiful temptation.

It is easier said than done to agree to something that we hope may yield a positive outcome without thinking of the pain and sacrifice it entails to stay committed to it.

This reminds me of goal I and a friend shared at the beginning of 2022, to keep fit, we planned to eat healthy, exercise, sleep early, and do the no soda challenge, it all seemed simple to me so, without a second thought I said yes to it.

We decided to be each other's accountability partner, we would check up on each other's progress by placing a video call every morning to start our day with drinking water and then exercise.

It was all fun, though sometimes the exercise for the day might be tedious, we kept reminding ourselves of the reason we started this journey and so It always motivated us to want to continue plus where there is no law there is no sin, which means the defaulter would do a daily data subscription throughout the week which she defaulted. It seemed simple yeah? Hehe.

Well, everything started going on well for about three months until this beautiful Saturday.🙈🙈

It was a wedding of a mutual friend, and we planned on going together after the day's daily fitness routine via face time.
However, she called to inform me that she wouldn't be able to make it to the wedding as she had some stuff she urgently needed to attend to.

I was quite sad as the saying goes "Friends who work together need to enjoy themselves together", but then I remembered I would be meeting with other mutual friends at the wedding, so my mood lighten up.

On getting to the venue of the wedding party, the decoration, music, and beautiful faces saw made me so happy, and guess what food!! I am an unashamed foodie, and there lies the big temptation, what was it?

The ushers at the wedding welcomed me to my seat table where I sat with other mutual friends and on our table, there lies the big temptation, chilled soda was sitting pretty on the table which was expected to be taken with the main dish.

I would occasionally look away from the table because I remembered the fitness deal which included No Soda!

However that day I craved that soda so badly because it was so chilled and so hard to resist, plus my fitness partner wasn't there with me, so I soliloquized😹😹, " How will she know I took soda today?, just today wouldn't spoil the whole hard work, after this one, no more" and then I gave in to the temptation, I stretched my hands towards the beautiful temptation dressed in black and red (Coca-Cola /soda) and opened it, as I ate my food I sipped the chilled Coca-Cola in front me, in my heart of heart, I knew I had already broken the deal, but then I kept tilting my head left and right to the beautiful music playing in the background while one of my friends was making a snap chat video, I was feeling the moment so I voluntarily decided to feature in the video, dancing and sipping my cold soda innocently.

After the wedding party, my fitness partner chatted me up to ask how the wedding went, I was excited to share the details of the wedding except for the part I broke the deal because I knew what was at stake.

And then she asked "I'm glad you had fun, but hope you didn't break any of the rules while at the party, ?", I knew what she was referring to, she knew there would be a lot of soda there, and knowing what was at stake, I decided to tell a white lie. " No now, I was tempted o, but I passed". And then she dropped this ðŸ¤£ðŸ¤£ðŸ¤£ emoji and then I replied "I'm serious jor" and then she said "Really?" The next thing I saw was a screenshot of that particular video of me innocently sipping the chilled Coca-Cola dropped by her, she even circled the soda in my hands and at that point, I was dumbfounded for a moment because there was a caught! Then I remembered that our mutual friend must have posted the video on her WhatsApp status innocently and I guess my fitness partner must have viewed it.

The next thing I saw was "Amie, send the data Asap😋😋", I was quite disappointed in myself for not keeping to the deal, but at that moment I didn't have enough money to purchase the data so I pleaded with her to give me time, after some days, I purchased data for just three days out of the seven days, I didn't keep to the agreement because I hadn't enough cash with me then.

After that day, I learned to discipline myself and not to default again because eventually I might get caught again, who knows🤣🤣🤣.

Thank you for stopping by, till we meet again, this is Amie Geoffrey.
