Dear Mama.

-

First, she changed her name after falling in love with the love of her life..
Then she became naive immediately when she found out she had a bump..

A newbie in the motherhood game but still determined to be the best at it..
Right from day one..she nurtured the foetus in her with so much affection.
So many sleepless nights..

Swollen legs..
Back pain..
Headaches..
Unnecessary fats..
Swollen nose and face..

Yet she wore her new skin with pride as she walked everywhere..
I could hear her pray for me to be safe and great..
And that day came..
I came out..
Lo and behold another journey embarked..

How do I protect my little one?
How do I teach her the ways of the lord?
Then she began from infancy..
Inculcating values and virtues in me..
Never to deviate from them when I'm grown.

You were firm yet you were kind..
Making sure I grow up to be someone great..
Your prayers covered me like a duvet.
Your smiles made me feel safe..

Mama would sacrifice her time for me,
Mama would go hungry to ensure I was full..
Mama made me the most delicious meal ever..
And when she breastfed me we bonded so much with her hands armed all around me.

When I was sick..
Mama would cry and worry so much
That I may be well and fit again.
The woman who sacrificed a lot to give me the best, is you mama!

No words can ever describe how much you mean to me..
Mom, you are selfless..
Patient..
Compassionate..
Strong..
Bold & Brave..

My superhero..
My all one..
A mother and a friend..
My confidant..
My cheerleader..

The one who loves me unconditionally.
My prayer warrior..
Mama, you are my beacon of light..
You shine so brightly..

You are resilient,
Never conceding and never giving up..
You are generous..
Your wisdom is evident in the way you care and nurture for your husband and your children..

Wonderful you are..
Supportive and beautiful..
Birthing me changed your body but you never regretted having me.
Thank you mom❤

If I have to choose over and over again..
Without a pause or second thought.
I wouldn't have to bat an eyelid to choose you over and over again.
Blessed be the day God sent me to you.

You are all I ever prayed for..
You're all I ever needed..
When I have you by my side I don't need anything to add it up..
You make me happy..
You make me fulfilled..

If there's anything I pray for,
Is for God to grant you a long life in good health,
For you've worked so hard for me,
So that you may reap the reward of your labour.

I want to make you happy,
Till my last breath..
I will honor you..
I will care for you..
I will love you..
I will adore you..

I will sing your praise..
I will flaunt you..
I will forever be grateful to you..
Because you mean the world to me.

It was on the 28th of October, 2022 at exactly 12:30 am, Debbie woke up that midnight feeling unhappy.  Source It was her 28th birthday, and unlike other birthdays this one was different, she felt like a loser simply because she felt she wasn't doing enough and today is another reminder that she was getting older, most of her mates were married with kids, and others work in a very big firm and living the lives of their dreams.
